All parents will have a chance to speak to the Health Supervisor at drop-off each day if there are any concerns.

What are meals like?

Meals are delicious and nutritious! All meals are provided by the Cambridge School of Weston dining hall, including lunch Mon-Fri for day participants and all meals for boarding session participants. Allergy, intolerance, and preferences should be included on your Brave Arts registration form so our dining partners can accommodate dining-needs in advance.

Who are the staff members?

To learn more about our amazing staff visit the Our Staff page! We are thrilled to have a staff of counselors with years of experience in the performing arts, teaching and working with kids.

What if I'm brand new to theatre?

We welcome anyone and everyone to join us and have had all levels of experience with us! Our mission is to encourage growth and build confidence both as a performer and as a person. Kids who have been on stage at the professional level to kids who have never sung a solo or taken a dance class all learn and grow throughout the weeks they are with us.

Do you perform a full-length musical? What's the show?

During our summers at Brave Arts we structure our week to prepare a musical revue at the end of each week featuring the songs and dances we learn throughout the session. The numbers range from Broadway to pop to country or rock n roll! While we love shows such as Annie, Grease, etc. the limit of roles and assigned parts inhibit our chances to give every performer the opportunity to sing a solo and shine in a way that both challenges them to grow and embraces their strengths and interests. Our goal every summer is to have every kid sing a solo...and we have yet to fail!

Performances are every Friday around 1:30 PM (exact time will be sent out for each session) and all are welcome! No tickets are required.

BOARDING SESSION FAQ

Where do we live for the week(s)?

In the Cambridge School of Weston on campus dorms. Two dorm buildings are provided just for Brave Arts participants. Counselors' rooms are spread along the floors. There are two common rooms in the buildings where we hang out, watch movies and play games, take classes and use for rehearsal.

Do I choose my roommate? What if I don't know anyone?

We invite all boarding participants to submit a name of a friend or two they would like to be placed with via a roommate survey form that will be emailed in late June. No worries if you don't know anyone! We'll ask some questions and match you with a best fit. There will also be an option of a single or double room. We really don't spend much time in the dorm rooms except to rest and sleep!

What are meals like? Can we bring food?

All meals are provided for boarding participants (breakfast, lunch and dinner). We all go to meals together. You are welcome to bring food for snacks and there is a fridge in the dorm

What happens on the weekend between sessions? Can I go home?

Between sessions we take a break from classes and workshops and enjoy time together! Past activities range from going to a music or theater show, outdoor games, movies and our personal favorite - diner breakfast on Sunday morning. We do allow our boarders to have visits from family or take a trip home. However with history on our side...you'll want to soak up every minute of Brave Arts! Don't worry families - the Friday performances are open to all to come see your favorite performer.
