Kathryn Faughnan

Kathryn found her love for theatre at a young age, as she would often attend her eldest sister’s rehearsals at a local community theatre. At the age of five Kathryn performed as Lottie in her first main stage production, “Meet Me in St. Louis.”  She continued acting at the Random Farms Kids Theatre and was asked to be represented by an acting agency as she entered into 2nd grade. After much deliberation and discussion Kathryn signed with a manager and began to lead her everyday passion down an exciting, yet challenging new path.

Kathryn has appeared alongside Julianne Moore and Dominic West in the film “The Forgotten” where she played West’s daughter. She went on to sing for Maggie Gyllenhaal in an independent film entitled, “The Great New Wonderful”, starring Gyllenhall and Olympia Dukakis. Additionally, she can be seen as Violet Knight in the well-renowned television show, “Law and Order: SVU” and Jen in the 2009 film “Coach” starring Hugh Dancy.
In the summer of 2006 Kathryn got the call that she had been asked to attend the final callbacks for the upcoming Broadway show “Mary Poppins,” as the creative team had decided to add a third set of children to play the roles of Jane and Michael Banks. Though this cut into the Faughnan family’s annual vacation, she decided to attend the callbacks in NYC and head out a few days late to meet the rest of her family. A few days into the vacation, while Kathryn was at the beach, her mom received the call announcing that she was cast in her first Broadway show! When she arrived back from the beach she was surrounded by her Granma, her aunts and uncles, cousins, and the rest of her family as her mom held out a spoonful of sugar and said, “Jane, a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.” She performed as Jane for fourteen months on Broadway alongside her counterparts Katherine Doherty and Delaney Moro, who remain her best friends to this day.

Fast forward to today: Kathryn graduated cum laude from the NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study where she concentrated in Theatre and Entertainment Business. She worked on the second season of ABC's "Quantico" as the Writers' Production Assistant, loves working on new musical theatre, produces reading for new work and freelances in digital illustration and lettering.

Kathryn is so sad to miss her first summer ever of Brave Arts while she takes an exciting opportunity in Los Angeles working as the Special Events Coordinator for Disney in their consumer products, parks and experiences departments. She sends lots of love to her Brave Arts family and can't wait to see every photo and video and hear every story!
